Minutes 09/2010 of Metheringham, Sots Hole and Tanvats Special Meeting of the Council held on Wednesday 03 March 2010 at 7.30pm in the Methodist Chapel School Room

PRESENT: Councillors Dr M J Allen (Chairman), N Dobbs, P D Ford, Mrs J Honisett (Vice Chairman), Mrs S Peek, M E Reynolds, A M Waddington, Mrs A F Webb, Mrs P Bradwell (County Council), and Ms S N Wetherall (Clerk).

1. To resolve to accept Apologies for absence and reasons given:

Apologies were received from Councillors Mrs Creasey, G H Roland, G W Chambers and J C Rose (District Council). It was resolved to accept the apologies and reasons, this was proposed by Cllr Mrs Honisett, seconded by Cllr Mrs Webb and all were in favour.

2. Members Declarations of Interests: Declarations of interest were made by the following Councillors:
Cllr Dobbs declared a personal interest for agenda item 3 because some of the equipment to be purchased is for adults.
Cllr Mrs Honisett declared a personal interest for agenda item 5 because she is Chairman of the Village Hall Management Committee.

3. Financial matters: New Play Park Equipment: Following consideration of the quotations received for the purchase and installation of new adult and children’s outdoor fitness equipment, it was resolved to purchase 1 x Children’s Double Air Walker (Shiregate), 1 x Children’s Ten Way Fitness Station; 1 x Adults Double Air Walker; 1 x Air Skier and 1 x Elliptical X Trainer for (Princes Street) from fresh-air fitness at a cost of £13,301.33, this was proposed by Cllr Reynolds, seconded by Cllr Mrs Honisett and all were in favour.

4. Public bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 Exclusion of the Press and the Public: Item 5 – Metheringham Village Hall this is no longer a confidential item, therefore there was no requirement to exclude the press and public.

5. Metheringham Village Hall: The village hall manager and the booking officer have resigned from their positions. It was agreed the job title should be changed to Caretaker, this is to include responsibility for bookings for the hall. Position will be for 16 hours per week. The Clerk and Cllr Mrs Honisett are to produce an advertisement. The job description is to be amended accordingly and salary to be confirmed.

The meeting closed at 8.10pm.
