Metheringham Area Community Leisure Association

MAKING CONTACT

Since we were set up in May, we have been busy making contact with people outside the Metheringham area who are able and willing to assist us. The help given to us by North Kesteven District Council has already been referred to a number of times in this Newsletter, and we are guided at our meetings by Helen Turner, the Council's Community Partnerships and Lottery Officer.

We are also fortunate that District Councillor Bill Chambers attends our meetings and offers the benefit of his advice. Lee Dolby, the Council's Sports Outreach Officer, has been to one of our meetings to let us know of the range of expertise that he is able to put at our disposal.

We met Buce Kelsey, the Sports Development Officer for Lincolnshire County Council one sunny afternoon in August (yes, there was one). A few, of us took him on a conducted tour of village facilities. Bruce is the County Council's official observer at our meetings and he was not at all impressed with the metal containers that our football teams use as changing rooms!
Our local County Councillor, Rob Kendrick, has asked to be kept up to date with copies of the minutes of our meetings, and is always at hand if we need him.

Most recently we have made contact with a number of officials from "Sport England". Hopefully more about that in the next Newsletter.

Maybe you know of someone or some organisation that we should be in touch with? If so please let us know.
