Charities Caravan and Camping Club

Did you know that we have a locally-based Caravan and Camping Club?

The Charities Caravan and Camping Club has now been running for a year. During this time we have raised well over £1000 for various local charities. These include the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Appeal, SCOPE around Grantham, St Francis Special School in Lincoln, Bassetlaw Hospital Special Baby Care Unit and Radio Humberside St Andrew’s Children’s Hospice Appeal.

The New Year 2001 rally in Dunston alone raised £270 for Scope and £55 for the Air Ambulance. And all of the people who attended enjoyed a New Year celebration to remember!

The aim of the Club is to promote friendly family rallies and to help those less fortunate than ourselves by raising money for local worthwhile causes. Membership covers the period of January to December each year and the cost is a mere £7, of which £2 is donated to an annually nominated charity ( this year the Air Ambulance Appeal).

We hold a Public Liabilities Insurance policy and a Certificate of Exemption issued by the Department of the Environment, Transport and Regions which is valid until the year 2004. We are also members of ACCEO (Association of Caravan and Camping Exempted Organisations) which brings benefits to members such as competitive unit and equipment insurance, and rallies with the organisation.

The Rally Programme for 2001 includes a Barn Dance in Dunston (March), Mothering Sunday weekend in Sherwood Forest, Spring Bank Holiday near Matlock, Summer Bank Holiday near Filey and many others.
