Metheringham Model Flying Association

Metheringham Model Flying Association was formed eight years ago. We are located on a part of the old RAF Metheringham complex, which of course keeps aircraft flying from it, albeit models.

We have a membership of no more than 25 active flyers. The disciplines flown are: scale aerobatic, fun fly, home build, and electric. We also fly gliders from an electric winch in the summer, and have a small hut on our area where we can make a cup of coffee etc.

Most of the flying is done at weekends, weather permitting. However, on light long summer evenings (do we have any?) we are also operational.

Membership is full at the moment, but we welcome visitors for a chat. Perhaps this will awaken or rekindle an interest in model flying, which is a truly fascinating sport. There is nothing like seeing a model you have built yourself, motor running, all control surfaces working, rolling down that runway, gently taking off into the sky. It is a very satisfying hobby.

Safety is paramount in our hobby. Nobody should fly alone, nobody should fly without a member on site, and most important all flyers must be insured.
