Playground Development Project

The Playground Development project set up at Metheringham Primary School is working towards improving its school grounds for all the pupils, and for the benefit of pre-school children and the local community.

Our team includes the pupils, teachers, parents, governors and volunteers from the locality.  Our objective is to create amore stimulating, safe, fun environment whilst providing a better educational resource for the children.

Already we have installed two new tree seats and a mini trim trail.  recently a team of volunteers planted wildlife hedge and 25 native trees, and we thank them all very much for their help.

Future plans include the addition of litter bins and the construction of a shelter,  as well as more seating and play equipment.  In addition, we will enhance the grounds with the planting of shrubs and flowers.

All funds are  raised through the friends of metheringham school activities and from donations of materials and funds from interested parties.

So look out for for new developments at the school.  If you feel like joining in, or would like further information, contact Pamela Marnie, Project Coordinator on (01526) 321984.
