The Metheringham garden Club meet on the third Tuesday of each month in the Village Hall at 7:30, when guest speakers give talks on various aspects of gardening.  at our April meting, Brian Schofield gave a talk on the cultivation of roses, followed by a slide show of the various types of roses.  In May, Janet Merillion described the 'Sensual garden', and future speakers will cover Bonsai Trees, Lawn Cultivation and Flower displays.

If you are interested in gardening, come and join us.  Contact Cynthia on 322563 for full details.

Seasonal Gardening Tips
1.  Plant up Hanging baskets and put up when frosts have passed.
2.  Mow lawns regularly: twice a week if necessary.
3.  Dead head bedding plants regularly to continue the flowering period.
4.  Sow quick growing vegetables, such as lettuce, radish and spring onions, every two to three weeks for a successful crop.
5.  Check throughout the garden for such pests as greenfly, white fly etc. and treat as necessary.

We sail on Hartsholme lake, lincoln, most Sundays from 10:00am and meet at the Post Office Sports and Social Club on the third Thursday of the month at &:30 - these premises are behind Sobraon Barracks off Burton road.

There is no age limit and we have members in their pre-teens to mid-eighties: some are newcomers to the hobby and others are very experienced, willing to offer advice and assistance.  Membership fees are reasonable and include third party liability insurance; the fee is at a reduced rate for junior and senior citizens.  new members are always welcome.

Provided that the boats are electric powered there are no restrictions on type; some are built from kits, other from plans and vary from scale models to free-style designs.

There is a two tier landing stage to launch the boats and a parking area which is allocated to Club members close by.

All you have to do is supply the boat - we'll supply the water.
