The Miracle of Spring

Look carefully at the garden,
The season begins anew.
See the dainty Springtime flowers,
In shades of every hue.

The trees that blow in a cold, cold wind,
Hide tiny buds of green.
And underneath the dry stone wall,
Velvet moss sports an emerald sheen.

The pond is full of activity,
As frogs guard their jelly eggs.
And in the fields the lambs bleat,
Whilst playing on new legs.

The air is loud with birdsong,
Feathered couples on the wing,
Nests built to home new babies,
Such pleasures do they bring.

Soon the weather will be warmer,
The days long and light.
And we will be out of our houses,
To share in the common delight.

Despite troubles and sadness,
That life sometimes seems to bring.
Rejoice in God's special handiwork
The Miracle of Spring!
