Lincoln Beat Police Team View

LincsPoliceBadge.pngBy Your Local Police Community Beat Team

Hello from PC Simon Gordon.
As already mentioned in the magazine, I have very recently taken over the local beat from PC Carl Annal. I am your new beat-team manager. This sounds very grand, and in fact means I am the new local bobby.
I have responsibility for Bracebridge Heath, Branston, Nocton, Dunston, Potterhanworth, Metheringham, and Blankney.

Welcome to a new article, provided by your “LOCAL POLICE COMMUNITY BEAT TEAM”
Although this is a large rural area, I have two excellent police community support officers to help me – PCSO Paul Flannigan and PCSO Duckworth. They are very committed, and also friendly and approachable. I hope many of you already know them, or have seen them around your villages. Please approach them with any concerns or information you may have, or even just for a friendly chat.
I fully intend to get out into the community, and meet as many of you as I can, and I am already aware of the problems on the area, such as anti-social behaviour, and speeding motorists – “Boy (and girl) racers” take note.
I assure you that I and the team will be tackling these problems.
The beat-team will be holding regular ‘police-surgeries’ in all villages, which will be advertised in advance. We welcome all contributions from our residents, good or bad.

Please remember that late winter-afternoons are a popular time for burglars to target your home. It may be daylight when you leave your home to go to work. However, when you return, it may have been dark for several hours. Leave some lights on; or even better, use timers. Thieves know very well that people are stashing presents at home in the run-up to Christmas. Burglaries always increase at this time of year. Having said that, crime in the rural area is very low at the moment.
