Blankney Hall - 1944 - A WAAF's Tale

waaf.jpg Geraldine Poulton was only 15 when she was evacuated from Guernsey prior to the German invasion of 1940. In December 1942, when old enough, she joined the Women's Auxiliary Air Force working as a 'plotter in a Fighter Command Operations Room. In 1944 she was billeted at Blankney Hall. She kept a diary.

This is her fascinating story ,transcribed by her daughter, from her 1944 diary, for the BBC online archive - "WW2 - A People's War"

Her full wartime story is also online and serves to complete the picture of the part played by a young girl during the War.
