South Lincs Blind Society

Since last we wrote the Society has had a busy time starting on 7 March when our members enjoyed an informative talk on acupuncture. At the second meeting in March Grace Timmins from the Lincoln Central Library gave a fascinating talk on the life of Alfred Lord Tennyson.
At the beginning of April Stephen Jones-Crabtree conducted a short Easter service, accompanied by Pam Rix on her keyboard. Stephen then judged the Easter Bonnets with Joan Osko winning first prize.

April closed with a musical quiz due to our guest speaker being ill and unable to attend.
On the 2nd May we enjoyed a very informative talk on the RNLI based in Skegness. Then on 16 May it was the Club’s 5th anniversary and we all enjoyed a scrumptious tea at the Canwick Golf Club, followed by a quiz on South Lincs Blind Society. Closing the month it was the Club’s Annual General Meeting on 30 May when the accounts and business for the year were discussed before members sat down to a few games of beetle drive.

The club meets every fortnight at Heighington Jubilee Hall. Anyone wishing to join must contact South Lincs Blind Society on 01476 592 775.
