Metheringham Area Lives - Update

We have now recruited 3 new Fundraising Helpers and 4 new responders
We have also been busy on the fund raising front with our sponsored swim and big thanks to the swimming pool for this. We attended St Wilfrid's Summer Fair, the Fire Station Open Day, where our responders interacted with the fire crew, Digby Party in the Park and Scopwick Summer Fete. On top of all this we applied to The Community Dragons Fund and were shortlisted, so we went along and did a presentation at Lincoln University (some of you will have seen our pictures in the Papers) and were very generously donated £2,000 which has enabled us to order another kit which will hopefully be fully operational by the end of September.
A big thanks to Branston Community College and The Lincolnshire Co-op and on top of this Norwich & Peterborough Building Society who have generously agreed to buy us a new bag £175.00 and an oxygen cylinder holder for the new kit.
The years roll on and our next big fundraiser is The Curry Night at The Mowgli Restaurant where Tyrone has very generously agreed to hold the event for us Thanks to Dot for producing the tickets for us. We are having 2 sittings 6.30pm and 8,30pm. Already the 8.30 sitting is sold out and over half of the 6.30 ones so if you want tickets please call in to Fine Art Framing, The Mowgli or call me on 01526 322615. There will be a raffle on the nights so please come along and make it a sell out. We will also be announcing two new ventures which we hope will bring us some long term friends. This will be a brand new web site and Friends of Metheringham LIVES and it is hoped this will bring us some much needed donations.(See page 37)
