Metheringham & District Swimming Pool Association

Many thanks to all who have supported us over the summer period. Our biggest money raisers have been the Friday night lessons and the party hire but we did have a couple of good weeks weather-wise, at the beginning of August, which brought out the crowds. The Aquafit sessions on a Monday evening were poorly attended and also the holiday fun sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. We will have to consider these options next season.

By the time you read this we will have closed for the winter, although it is possible that the Goole Scuba Club may hire the pool all year round. We could make the pool available to other scuba clubs through the winter as they do need warm water. Contact Dian on 01526 321581 (07932 520362) or Anne on 01526 321175.
Also contact us if you can spare any time during the autumn months to help with clearing of the site. We will be there most week-ends in September and October. We would be very grateful for any help. The hedge needs trimming (hacking back!), the changing room floors need stripping, the Forth Bridge (sorry fence) needs painting and the garden needs tidying and some replanting as well as other smaller jobs.
The children's disco and swimming award presentation evening will be held in the school hall on Friday 2nd November (entry £2.00 p.p). Parents are welcome to stay and bring the little ones. Please dress up - the theme is Hallowe'en.
We will see you all at the Fayre and Feast on Saturday 20th October with our big raffle, with lots of lovely prizes and don't forget our family party, with supper, on New Years Eve in the Village Hall. Last year’s party with local band "Touch and Go" was a huge success and all the family can come also, so no babysitters. The theme this year is "The Wild West"
