11th of the 11th - a Day to Remember

This was a day to remember alright,
It was one that gave me a bit of a fright,
It was supposed to be to respect our war dead,
But others thought it was for their ego’s instead,
Goodness me it must have been a wrench,
When some stranger sat on their bench,
Eyes boring into the back of ones head,
I was wondering if they were wishing me dead,
I did not think it could cause such unrest,
So I thought I would keep quiet, its for the best!

How sorry I am I didn’t know my place,
But rest assured I will never again sit in your space,
In future I will not bleat,
As I now know not to upset the elite,
I know I need to be humble and poor,
But god help you if I move next door,
I know then some Councillors will wake up,
Because I will give them one hell of a shake up,
Out will go bitching and sniping,
And move on to the issues we should be fighting.
