MAWS Spring 08 Update
MAWS have had a fairly quiet time since Christmas. The volunteers work on behind the scenes each Monday and Friday mornings as usual, but at a more leisurely pace. Stock is sorted, some items going to auction and some sold by the free ads in the newspaper. Other stock has to be stowed away in dry, warm storerooms. That is always a problem over the winter months due to the extra heating required, space is limited. When the volunteers are struggling to find space and where to put things, it is not unusual to be answered in chorus "you need sky hooks". If asked where they are kept (and it has happened), you have guess it, the reply is "its behind you". Not sure if the MAWS gang watch too many pantomimes or just create their own. Either way they do seem to enjoy charity work and share a good laugh doing it.
Events coming up:
Garden / outhouse sales start on Sat 1 March and then continue on the first Saturday of every month up to and including 1 November.
Open from 10.00 am to 2.00pm at 31 Station Road, Metheringham.
The ever popular Raffle, sale of:- plants and pots, tools, pictures, toys, jigsaws, books, videos, CD's DVD's, tapes, camping equipment, also fresh fruit and veg, when available. (sorry we do not sell bric a brac or clothing, we do not have the room)
Saturday 19 April - Table Top & Car Boot Sale - Village Hall and Car Park, Metheringham. Open to the public 8.30 am to 1.00 pm. Stall holders and car booters access at 8.00 to set up. Tables £5 each can be booked inside and paid for, to avoid disappointment on the day. Car booters are on a first come basis. £5 per pitch. Please provide your own table. Sorry no vendors.
MAWS Snack will be open, eat inside or out. MAWS Raffle as usual.
