Metheringham Village Hall - Spring 08

The Village Hall has new challenges to face in 2008.

Grant Applications have just gone off to try and get assistance for this year's project of 21st Century Energy Efficiency Improvements. This will we hope entail completion of the double glazing and cavity wall insulation at the hall. Installation of a rainwater saving system to use grey water for the toilets and Solar heating panels for the hot water. We also want to make visiting the hall a safer and less intimidating experience by installing four CCTV cameras to reduce the vandalism we have had in the past.

Dot Howes has finished her stint as stand in Treasurer for the hall and the finances will now be looked after by Gwyneth Holland. Any queries about bookings should still go to Anne Harrison on 01526 320644.

Following the fantastic successes of last year's fundraising the committee plan to take it a little easier this year but the Spring Fair will be taking place on 10th May. Anyone wishing to book a table in the hall for their own or their organisations fundraising should contact Anne. There will be refreshments and raffle available.
The side access to the hall has now been made wheelchair friendly and re-skimmed following the graffiti so the village hall car park is now also the most direct way to get to the Co-Op or the Methodist Church without parking on the street. We hope this will also stop vehicles obstructing the pavement outside the squash courts.

Everyone is welcome to the AGM on Tuesday May 20th 2008 in the village hall and if you fancy getting involved in a dynamic project like the village hall either put yourself forward to your organisation or come along as an individual and join in. We'd like people who have something positive to suggest to come and suggest it and help us see whether we can put it into practice.

It is your hall, use it and keep it busy.
