Dog Warden Report Autumn 2008
Well folks, the first year has been and gone and I am pleased to say that the dog fouling problem in the village is pretty much under control. I would like to say a big "thank you" to all you dog owners who automatically clean up after your dogs.
The new bin is now in place on Highfield Rise (please make it worth while) and all bins are now being emptied regularly.
There are still the odd few dog owners who seem to believe that the law does not apply to them but I will keep on advertising and issuing bags and fixed penalty notices where necessary.
Finally I would like to say what a lot of lovely people I have met since starting the job. Come rain or shine, I will continue to work hard to maintain the standard of cleanliness for you all.
I can be contacted on 01522 820814 or through the Parish Council for any dog related problems.

Hi - I have just been reading your report on the dog fouling. I would like to point out that there is a lot of dog fouling on the green in Cavalry Court. Myself and my husband have tried to keep our eye out on the dog walkers that we see, but they do seem to clean up after their dogs. So maybe it is the ones that walk their dogs in the middle of the night!! Or whilst every one is at work, but to be honest I am completely fed up with having to clean it off my sons shoes when he has run across the field or been playing football. It only seems to be the winter months when the grass is not being cut. During the summer months it is not as bad although still a problem. Like you say in your report, some dog owners feel that the law does not apply to them.
There, moan over but not sure what else I can do other than observe the dog walkers that I see.
