Dunston Methodist Church Autumn 2008

We have been busy sprucing up our chapel, spending a couple of working weekends doing all those jobs that get put off for another day! With the help of some very generous people we have achieved a great deal - updating the kitchen and generally making the place more presentable. You should have seen the size of some of the cobwebs we found! This is in readiness for the celebration of our 150 years in 2009.

It's amazing to think of all those years of faithful people and the many ways in which the building has been used. At the moment it is a place of worship on Sunday Morning at 11 am and a place of fellowship and bible study on the 3rd and 4th Tuesdays in the month . During the day the Stepping Stones group of mums and tots meet on Monday with Yogabugs at other times and Thursday Club once a fortnight - our midweek Children's Church. Lunch Club provides a delicious hot meal on the 3rd Friday each month.

Those who visit the Chapel often comment on the sense of peace and love which is there - a real blessing to all. We enjoy the sense of continuing to develop the history and influence of the Methodist Church in this village - welcoming three new members in a special service in July and celebrating the Village Harvest Service with a joint service at the Chapel on Sunday 28 September at 11 am - led by Mr David Tonge. As always there will be service on Christmas Eve at 11.30 pm - a joy to welcome Christmas in this way and remember the meaning of the season.
