News Magazine 32, Autumn 2008 - Editor's Corner
Our "wonderful" Summer has just about come to an end and now we have to look forward to the nights drawing in and Winter. Inside this issue (a bumper production with another four pages added) you will find a multitude of local events which will be taking place over the closing months of this year. Hopefully these will help to enhance your Autumn days before we look forward to the seasonal festivities of Christmas.
You will also see a number of thanks from organisations who have held their events during the Summer and now wish to say a big thank you to you all for giving your support. Without the help of local people many local organisations would fail to continue. Whilst speaking of thanks we too wish to express sincere thanks to John Duggins and Heather Morrison, two people who have been stalwarts in delivering our Free Magazine since its inception way back in October 2000, but have now stood down. To Heather we also wish her a happy life in her new home in Scotland, closer to her grand children.
Soon, with regret but again with much gratitude, it is anticipated that Cathy and Geoff Brown will be asking to pass on the "Distribution" responsibilities of the magazine. This job has to be one of the most important in ensuring this Free magazine reaches you all so I hope we are able to find replacements
