St Oswald, Blankney Autumn 2008
Blankney PCC would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported their fund-raising events over the Summer months.

Firstly the PCC was approached by M.A.D. who asked to stage a production of "The Hollow Crown" in the Church and to donate the proceeds. A most generous offer and thanks go to Gaynor Little and her troupe for all their hard work.
The next event was a "Lincolnshire Evening" hosted and organised by David and Liz Leech, a fun evening with an informative talk on Lincolnshire villages, a photographic quiz of Lincolnshire places and a general quiz. The evening included a wonderful buffet and many thanks go out to David and Liz and all their helpers for a most successful and enjoyable evening.
Finally, at the beginning of June we held a "Musical Weekend" - a first for Blankney. Three quite different evenings started with the Beevor Brass Band on Friday. A concert by the Hungate Singers on Saturday night, including a "hog-roast". Then the weekend culminated with a "Songs of Praise" on Sunday evening, featuring Lincoln Cathedral Choir. Something for everyone. The funds were supported by a raffle, Tombola and a Silent Auction for a walking stick. Our sincere thanks go to everyone involved in making this weekend the incredible success it was. A total of £3,908.00 was collected towards our "Tower Repair Fund" from these three events. We hope everyone enjoyed it and we thank everyone, from those who organised events, to everyone who gave their support and hopefully we will see you again in the future.
Our next event in St Oswald Church is our Harvest Festival on Thursday 2 October at 6.30 pm - the visiting preacher will be the Rural Dean - Canon Richard Eyre.
The service is followed by a Harvest Supper in the Old School at 7.30 pm
Tickets for the "Harvest Supper" are available from Blankney Estate Office, priced at £10.00 (Under 12's - £5.00) - (01526) 320181
