Fayre & Feast Awards

The Metheringham Fayre and Feast Committee held its event debrief this week which included a presentation. We hold a contest for the best dressed business premises and best dressed stall on the day of the Metheringham Fayre and Feast (18 Oct).

The Best business premises award was won by the Star and Garter. The theme of the F&F was Celebrating the 90th Anniversary of the Armistice. The Star had decorated the pub out in military fashion but the ceiling of the pub had also been decked out in parachute linen and poppies - together with crosses with the names of all the men who fell in the two wars from Metheringham.

The second picture attached shows the Council Chairman Dr Michael Allen presenting a plaque and a cheque for £50.00 to sisters Margaret Kristen and Linda Lacey who did all the decoration.

The winners of the Best Dressed Stall was Metheringham and District Swimming Pool Association whose stall depicted an Military Soup Kitchen (see below) - unfortunately they were not able to be present for their presentation of a plaque and cheque for 25.00 - the photo shows MADSPA Chairperson Di Robinson and her daughter Ann Priest
