Dog Warden Report - Spring 2009

We are well into 2009 now and I am very disappointed with some of you dog owners.

The village was reasonably clean up until Christmas, but has got progressively worse ever since. I cannot understand why any one would want to live in a village where they have to sidestep dog faeces on a daily basis. Alfred Avenue and Church Walk are particularly bad at the moment. Someone must have an idea who is responsible. I would ask that if anyone sees or knows any culprits, then they contact me in complete anonymity.

I have distributed leaflets and posters around, so there is no excuse for not cleaning up after your dog. I have also re-introduced evening patrols, and a zero tolerance level. I will be issuing fixed penalty notices to anyone found not cleaning up after their dog. No excuses will be accepted, don't say you haven't been warned.

To the many lovely people I have met in Metheringham, I would like to say a big "thank you" for your efforts. Please keep it up.

I live on Shiregate and am absolutely appalled by the amount of dog fouling on paths outside my home and towards the end of this estate (near railway crossing). I would be grateful if you could please contact me asap to discuss in the hope of to finding a possible solution to end this. Do you still conduct evening patrols? I have put a notice up but feel it will be ignored!
Many thanks
