Brenda Crouch has been working as a commercial artist for many years, and on moving up from Kent to Lincolnshire in 1993 has literally widened her horizons to portray the broad skies of the Wash. The exhibition will cover more than landscapes however, with a variety of themes including flowers, figure drawings etc - and of course her trademark cats will be represented.

Her past exhibitions have mostly been in the South East, where her commissions have included illustrating course prospectuses for the University of Kent at Canterbury, and drawing "magic brooms" for Canterbury City Council (to be put on the side of their street sweeper machines - so that passers-by would understand what they were for!)
Her pen drawings have appeared in print in several books, and in the Daily Mail and Gardeners' World magazine. She was pleased to have one of her dog drawings used for the cover of the Briard owners' magazine.

Her work has been sold here and overseas, but she says that although it is flattering to know a piece is off to Japan or the United States, the biggest reward is when you know that someone has enjoyed your work. That moment of visual communication is the best boost of all. However she loves to hear all the public's comments - as we all have our own opinions! Brenda is particularly keen to encourage others to paint and draw. If you are interested in tuition, demonstrations/workshops or perhaps in sharing future exhibitions, please contact her by email on brendacrouch@hotmail.com, or come and meet her in person at the exhibition.
