Metheringham Football Club Awards 2008 - 2009

Three presentation evenings were held after the 2008-09 season ended.

On Friday 22 and Saturday 23rd May the eight Juniors Sides presentations were held in the Village Hall. Both events were excellently attended with parents and friends supporting the youngsters.

At the first presentation for the Under 7 / 8 / 9 and 10's Danny Hone of Lincoln City came along to make the presentations.

The recipients were as follows:

Achievements awards were then presented to the following players for having reached 50 Club appearances: Josh Hill / Ben Mearns / Harry Jones / Matthew Whitehouse / Harry MacDavid / Nathan Fenwick / Ryan Bellamy / Cameron Alcock (Cameron also received award for 50th club goal in 53 games.

To end the evening two Special Awards were made as follows:

A new Award was created for the Junior Golden Gloves Award to the goal keeper who had conceded the least goals during the season. This went to Jacob Burrell (Under 8s) who had conceded just 1.53 goals per game.

The Roger Dawson Club Personality Award concluded the evening with the Whitehouse Family making it a clean sweep as Mathew and Benjamin's Dad, Graham Whitehouse collected this award for his continued efforts every Sunday - refereeing one, two and sometimes three Junior games.

On Saturday it was the turn of the Under 11 / 12 / 13 and 14's - Chairman John Wood made the presentations as follows:

Special Awards were also presented to conclude the evening as follows:
A newly awarded - Junior Golden Boot Award was made - this going to the player who averaged the most goals each game There were two recipients who both averaged 2.66 goals per games - Ridwan Sadi 56 goals in 22 games and Harry Wright 48 goals in 22 games.

The Stan Ford Memorial Trophy for the Manager's of the Season went to the Under 13's management team of Roy Rogers /Barry Houlden and Maureen Greenaway.
The final award was the Dayne Grove Memorial Trophy presented to the Club Junior Player of the season. This was presented by Dayne's mother to Under 16's player Elliott Ward

The Final Presentation Evening was the Senior and Intermediate's at the Mezz Bar at Lincoln University.
