Metheringham Village Hall News - Summer 2009

The Annual General Meeting of the Village Hall was held in the village hall on the 21 April 2009 where the chairman Mrs Jenni Honisett took the opportunity to thank the 2008/9 trustee officers and committee for their input over the year. Also thank you to Dot Howes for her help with the 21st century energy improvements.

Now that this project is completed we are looking forward to the next phase, to improve the south side of the building with a fenced play area for pre-school and to drastically improve the entrance from the car park, making it much more attractive and welcoming.

The management committee wish to thank all residents of Metheringham and surrounding areas for their support in attending the various events held in the past and hope you will continue to do so in the future. On Wednesday 13 May we held a "Kurling" introduction evening. Unfortunately due to the rain, numbers were down but of those who came along found it to be good fun, soon showing their competitive spirit in an enjoyable game which can be played by young, not so young and whatever the ability. Most people put their names down for more evenings in the autumn (see hall calendar in this magazine) or contact Gwyneth Holland on 01526 322633.

Are you interested in Whist Drives? If so for information on this please contact Gwyneth Holland on 01526322633.

In the Spring issue of this magazine we said that we are trying to put together a model making, craft, hobbies and miniatures display for which we have received considerable response and will keep you all informed.

Cliff Tompkins (Secretary)
