The Star & Garter Veg & Produce Show 06 Sep 2010

The annual Star and Garter - Village Veg / Cake & Flower Show will be held on Monday 6 September.

It may well still be seven months away but now is the time for all you would-be gardeners / flower arrangers or cooks to get in on the act.

Despite advertising the event here in this magazine a year ago, the winning entries again had the familiar names, so come on everyone, give them a little bit more competition.

As stated, the event is on the first Monday of September in the Star and Garter with the closing time for all entries 12.00 noon. The entries are then judged while a free buffet is partaken of. Then follows the auction of the produce together with a raffle. All proceeds go to a local organisation (to be decided).

The categories are as follows:
Veg: Best Onion / Best Marrow / Best Tray of Veg / Children's Novelty Veg
Baking: - Best Sponge / Best Fruit Cake / Best Fruit Pie / Best decorated cake / Children's Novelty Cake / Best Flower Arrangement
