Nocton Parish Council Minutes - 06 April 2010
Minutes of the Nocton Parish Council meeting held on Tuesday the 6th of April 2010 in the village hall

1. Declaration of Prejudicial Interest in Accordance With the Ethical Code of Conduct: None
2. Police: There had been 1 offence of criminal damage .
3. Public Questions: LCC Highways will attend to the Trees/shrubs by the Hall grounds but more than just cutting back is needed.
It was asked if the room could be setup differently.
There has been an increase in speeding lorries through the village ( Bowring)
1. Litter: Mr.Sidney was paid for litter picking in March.
The Minutes of the March meeting were proposed as correct by Mr.Rumbelow, seconded by Mr .Morris and signed by the Chair.
Matters Arising: 1/10see184/09) Dropped kerbs still awaited, more potholes to report.
2/10see185/09) Safety mirror no progress.
3/10see186/09) Play area - no progress.
4/10see187/09) The clerk has replied to the residents response regarding the BT red kiosk Wasps Nest
5/10see188/09) No filing cabinets yet.
6/10see189/09) Allotments - the problem was an underground power cable to the sewage works, the cable is lmtr. down so should cause no problems. Once up and running if any spare plots a notice will be posted on The Park.
Village Hall 7/10) The Easter Fayre raised £126 for funds. Committee meeting tomorrow evening. Coffee morning Wednesday next week.
Equal Opportunities 8/10) Nothing to discuss.
Nocton Hall 9/10) There has been more movement of a white flatbed lorry removing materials from the hospital site. NKDC have not yet decided on the tender, are looking to serve an Urgent Works Order, £85000 to make secure, looking to do work and invoice LEDA. English Heritage are investing £65000 so are getting very much more involved. It was asked if NKDC are taking any measures to prevent anything else happening to the Hall when the notice is served? The D.Cllr. will make enquiries.
C.Cllr Overton was asked if LCC Highways could get the Bowring lorries to avoid the village. She will make enquiries. She then gave her report.

Any Other Business 13/l0a) see 10f above: Ward Cole letter discussed, agreed to ask for quotes for any work need from the recommendations in this letter.
a. see 12c above: It was agreed that the clerk contact AON and increase the
population number to 6000, and remove the computer/printer and goal posts
b. see 12e above: The Cricket club request discussed, as this is the only surviving
village sports club they should supported. As the present facilities are in such a poor state Mr. Morris proposed that the PC donate the funds for the Ladies and loan the funding for the Gents so both can be purchased for this season, seconded by Mr.Askew all agreed.
c. Mr. Askew said there is a water leak in the road outside the Wellhead Ln. bungalows, this will be reported to Anglian Water.
d. Mr.Hewitt said it is embarrassing for the litter picker to be paid in the meeting
The Annual Parish Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday the 4th of May 2010 at 7pm in the village hall.
Proposed Nocton Dairy: with all the information available to councillors considered, a vote was taken. Majority against the proposal this recorded and be sent to NKDC.
There being no other business the meeting closed at 9pm
