Countryside NK walks - Summer 2010

This summer Countryside Nk has all sorts of things you can do out in the countryside. From looking at bats to fishing for frogs, North Kesteven's Countryside Promotion Officer, Theresa Hobbs invites you to enjoy the outdoors this summer.

Bat Detectors!Friday 16 July at 9.30pm
Tunman Wood near Thorpe on the Hill

Join WatchNK Countryside Rangers for a moonlight walk through Tunman Wood in search of bats. Learn how to identify some of our native bats and find out more about their habitat and lifestyles. As this involves walking through woodland in the dark this event is not suitable for children under 14 years. Please remember to bring a torch!


Family Fun Day!

Lollycocks Field, Sleaford
With a pond teeming full of wildlife, and a delightful wildflower meadow, there's lots to see and do on Lollycocks Field. Join us for an afternoon of pond dipping, exploring, willow weaving and much more to learn about our wildlife.


A Day in the Woods - Thursday 26 August from 10am til 4pm
Tunman Wood near Thorpe on the Hill
Join us for a whole day in the woods to discover lots of woodland skills. Find out what our woods have to offer and learn how to identify woodland animals from their tracks.
Please bring a packed lunch.
