BT's Race to Infinity

Broadband speeds not fast enough for you? BBC's iPlayer stuttering on download? Then you need to be aware of BT's next technology step that will affect you. Faster broadband through the use of optical fibre.

BT are running an awareness campaign called Race to Infinity. If you visit the site , express an interest by entering your postcode , then if our community can get 1000 votes by 31 Dec 2010, it will be in with a chance of being one of the first 5 areas throughout the country to be upgraded.

1000 votes by year end - sound like a tall order? Not so! For those with long memories this is achievable. Way back in 2003, 2 enterprising locals, Steve & Aaron, ran a similar campaign to persuade enough people to promise to buy broadband in a similar BT promotion. they were so successful that Metheringham was one of the first exchanges in our area to be broadband enabled. Who will champion the campaign this time?

The ball has started rolling - 37 votes on 02 November 2010.
