Concerning Stray Dogs
Please note that Lincolnshire Police is no longer responsible for stray dogs. This is now the responsibility of our local council (in our case North Kesteven DC) and Dog Wardens can be contacted during normal working hours on 01529 414155. The out of hours number, should you find a stray dog, is 07966 400999. Arrangements will be made by them to collect the dog and scan it for a microchip or transport it to a holding kennel.
Should you have lost a dog you can report it on 01522 730502 (this is a 24 hours answer-phone).
For dog owners in the Metheringham area I would like to thank those of you who clean up after your pets. The whole of the village is a "zero tolerance" area and fixed penalties will be issued where there is evidence of someone not cleaning up.
There is a problem in the Londesborough Way estate at the present time, with someone allowing their dog to foul on the grassed area. This area is being regularly patrolled and a £50 (on the spot) fine will be issued to any offenders. There is also a lesser problem on Church Walk but again, this area is being monitored and the same action will subsequently be taken.
It is your village and your dog warden can be contacted on 07833 757988 should you witness any dog fouling not being cleaned up.
