Martin Cricket Club Winter 2010 Update
After suffering relegation from the Premier League in 2009 Martin Cricket Club bounced straight back to cruise to the Division One title and a quick return to the top flight in 2010. Suffering only two defeats in 18 games they won by 54 points from Saxilby and Heckington. Captain Dave Gollop has to take a lot of credit for the way he led his players to the title and by virtue of this was chosen as the Club Player of the Season. Also finishing third in the league bowling averages with an average of 10.43, he picked up the Club's Bowling Award collecting 42 wickets, the second most in all the divisions. The Batting Award went to Steve Scott who scored 670 runs, including three centuries and two fifties in 14 innings and finished with an average of 83.75. He also finished top of the Div One batting averages. The Club's fielding award went to Tom Harrison with James Zealand collecting the Young Player Award.
