MAWS Update Winter 2010

On Sat 13 November we held our Christmas Market in Metheringham Village Hall. We were lucky to have a nice sunny day with the public turning out well even if though cash was a bit short. The atmosphere was good as folk tried their luck on the tombola and raffle. Farm House pickles, jams and Christmas cakes could be sampled before buying; that was very popular. The woodworking demonstration was really interesting and some lovely gifts were produced. These were just a few of the stalls that people enjoyed looking around, with many winning prizes, or purchasing Christmas presents. As usual the Snack Bar was busy but who could resist the smell of bacon butties and home roast ham wafting around the area?These went down well and the cakes also vanished in record time. All in all we at MAWS enjoyed the day greatly and we hope everyone else did too.

As we go to press we do not yet have all the bills in but we hope to have a gross figure of around £962 which could give us a profit of around £690 should the bills be similar to last year. It is thanks to a lot of people, the volunteers for their hard work, businesses and individual people for the prizes given, also to those who baked the cakes. Not forgetting the car drivers who ferried things about for us. And finally a big, big thank you to all of you for your wonderful support on the day. Bless you all for caring. Fri 4 Mar - An evening of entertainment with Leanne Disney (very bubbly song and dance lady) - Martin Moor Golf Club - entry by ticket only. Bar open for food and drink if required.
