Editor's Corner

Can you believe it, it is 10 years, as now, when your first edition of this community magazine came through your door. The first issue, the brain-child of producer Geoff Brown (the then chairman of the newly formed Metheringham Community Leisure Association) was just 10 pages (A4 size) and contained only 10 local adverts.

Today it has grown to 68 pages with almost 100 businesses, etc., using it to advertise. Of those ten advertisers, just two have been in every issue, namely Ashley and Geeta at Costcutters and Ann Smith at Metheringham Hair Studio. We thank them for their continued support. Organisations contributing in that October 2000 issue, included Metheringham Amateur Dramatics, Friends of Metheringham Airfield, the local Bowls Club, Football Club, Over 60s and Women's Institute and again it is thanks to them for having contributed in most, if not all, of every issue.

I believe the magazine is now an integral party of our lives and has brought our communities closer together whilst also being a useful reference document for many varied needs - long may it continue.
