Nocton Cricket Club Review Winter 2010

Nocton cricket club's season started well with two wins after the first five games, but continued with defeats until a rain-induced draw in the very last game. Overall, this was an improvement on the season before (when there had been no wins at all) particularly as there had been some narrow defeats in this recent season. Consequently there are hopes for further progress in the 2011 season.

The club's presentation evening had a delicious buffet provided by the village WI, in the village hall, when the following awards were made:

• David Franklin: Batting, Clubman, President's, and Man of the Match.


• Peter Packwood: Bowling.


• John Franklin: Fielding.


• Dylan Garfoot: Young player.


• Matthew Stephens: Most improved.


• Jake Allison: All-rounder.


• Edward Dowler: Most promising youngster.


• Ben Barnett: Most ducks!
