Nocton Dairies Update - Winter 2010

Nocton Dairies' reworked application for the proposed farm at Nocton Heath was submitted to NKDC on 18 November. It includes a reduction in the proposed numbers of cows to 3,770 and other changes / information the applicants say will address local concerns over water, health, smell, flies and traffic.

The plans (reference 10/0831/FUL) will be available on the NKDC website when validated but until then are available on www.noctondairies.co.uk, where there is also additional information provided. Factsheets have been issued in local villages and meetings are being set up in each parish. It is expected the consultation period will last 13-14 weeks after validation with initial feedback taken after 4 weeks.

Update - Ed: the number for the revised planning application is 10/1397/FUL according to the Lincoln Echo. Nothing under either number on NK planning site as of 29th November

Update - Ed: Consultation meeting for Metheringham residents - 08 December 2010

One of the anit dairy campaigners discovered that Nocton Dairies were giving out the wrong reference number and alerted the Echo. So the Echo is correct and NKDC have confirmed this - anyone can check with the planning office. Nocton Dairies were wrong, but having now been informed of the correct number by the media, have now amended the information on their website. So the leaflets that were circulated are incorrect. It does not bode well for the new application if Nocton Dairies can't even get this simple bit of information straight.
