Minutes of the Meeting of Nocton Parish Council held on Tuesday the 5th October 2010 in the Village Hall

(1) Declaration of Prejudicial Interest in Accordance with the Ethical Code of Conduct: None
(2) Police: Two crimes reported since the last meeting, thefts from motor vehicles.
(3) Public Questions: None
(4) Litter: Mr.Sidney was paid for September.
(5) Minutes: The Minutes of the meeting held on 14th September 2010 were proposed as correct by Councillor Williams, seconded by Councillor Askew and signed by the Chair.
Matters Arising :
85/10 (see 14/Sep/10): All items reported to LCC Highways.
86/10 (see 68/10): No progress on cleaning out the beck.
87/10 (see 69/10 Play area): The Clerk has written to Mr.Glew but as he is no longer the Chairman to the school's Governing Body, he has passed the letter to Nick Dowler.
88/10 (see 71/10): Village Hall settlement - the Clerk has replied to the letter from Uretek. The Uretek quote for the work has been studied again the other quotes and conditions considered too high an outlay at present, other quotes to be sought.
89/10 (see 72/10): District Councillor Rose had contacted NKDC re surfacing for The Green, they said there is a better product in use at Martin school than that used by NKDC, but that all products are untidy where it is not frequently used. Councillor Williams has information from Boddingtons.
90/10 (see7 3/10): The Clerk was going to speak to Scopwick P.C. at the cluster meeting regarding 'Duck' signs, but is unable to attend the forthcoming meeting.
Village Hall 91/10 A Committee meeting tomorrow evening. Coffee morning next Wednesday. The Lincolnshire Day celebrations were a great success.

(7) Nocton Hall (93/10): Ms. Bradford gave an update from NKDC, then introduced John Glenn and Mary Anderson who presented their overview of the condition survey findings. Mr.McDonough explained the next steps that would be taken.

(12) Any Other Business (97/10):
(a) CouncillorWilliams had attended the Community Links Meeting in Dunston 'Big Society'. A community-led Parish Plan can be undertaken, advice and funding available.
(b) Query regarding the Cluster bench, did Sue Chambers order?
(c) Car park and The Green surfacing problems, Community Links may be able to help.
(d) The provision of a Christmas tree discussed.
(e) The Clerk to contact Sandy Long re Dog Warden duties.
(f) The safety of the horse-chestnut trees on The Green raised. The trees are inspected regularly but the Clerk will contact the tree officer at NKDC.
(g) Thanks expressed to Geoff Hall for digging grips to allow the rain water to escape.
(h) The faulty street light on The Bridle Path reported.
(i) Wellhead Lane road surface - LCC Highways are due to look at it this week
(j) A cardboard box on the grass verge had been run over by the LCC grass cutter creating a further mess.
(13) Date of Next Meeting:
The next meeting confirmed as Tuesday, 2nd November 2010 at 7pm in the Village Hall. There being no other business, the meeting closed at 9.25 pm.
