MAWS Update Spring 2011

Many of or volunteers have had a rest since our Christmas Market in November. Like everyone else they have had or been trying to dodge the 'flu like' things that have been going around this Winter. MAWS party held at Martin Moor Golf Club in January was very successful but due to illness and folk feeling the "pinch" it was poorly attended. Money is short and it is showing. Many thanks to Carole and Alan for hosting the event; as always they made us so welcome. February, the sun is now shining and the volunteers are feeling brighter as they get busy putting out posters and selling tickets for our next do. A chance to get rid of the Winter Blues.

Friday 4 March - Martin Moor GC - An evening with Leanne Disney. A Sensational live vocalist. An excellent show - rock / pop / soul / old to new. Starts 7.30 pm Admission £5.00 by ticket only (available from Martin Moor GC, DK News and MAWS office, 31 Station Rd, Metheringham) - open to non-members also. Bar available for drinks and meals. Raffle tickets on sale. The dance floor is available so you can join in if you wish or just sit and enjoy the music as the mood takes you.

Friday 8 April - Metheringham Village Hall - by popular demand - the return of Bryan Gibson and Sue Odam for an evening of clairvoyance. Doors open 7.00 pm - start 7.30 pm - refreshments available at about 9.00 pm. Raffle tickets to be on sale. Admission by ticket only (price to be decided).

1) have you any unwanted gifts? We need raffle and tombola prizes please.
2) Wanted collectors - over 16 years old - to "carry the can" - door to door for our "Mad Fortnight" - 30 May - 12 June
3) Anyone with information about the vandals who keep damaging our charity notice board, contaminating the wild life pond in the garden or who knocks on the window in the small hours of the morning - please ring Joyce (01526 321436)
