Silver Sounds Band Update Spring 2011
President and Vice-Presidents
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Harry Whitwell as President of the Band, and Mr Derrick Chantrey and Mr Stephen Fisher as Vice-Presidents. These honorary appointments have been made in recognition of the support these gentlemen have provided in the reformation and the ongoing development of Silver Sounds Band.
Christmas
The Band had a very busy festive season playing up to and including Christmas Day! This resulted in raising over £1300, a much needed boost for the Band funds. We would like to thank the residents of Dunston and Metheringham for their support and generosity, as well as the management and staff at the Red Lion (Dunston), Mowgli Restaurant and the Scarf & Goggles (Metheringham) for their support and donations of raffle prizes. A big thank you to Mr Chris Hewitt and All Saints Church, Nocton; Canon Bryan Barrodale and Branston PCC, and Metheringham Methodist Church, for their generous donations.
Booking the Band
Just a word about booking the Band - our diary is filling up rapidly, so if you would like the Band to play at any event you are organising, please give as much notice as possible (contact details below). The Band does usually make a charge for performing and all money goes directly to the Band in order to support the running costs.

The Band is always welcoming of new members; whether you already play a brass instrument or would like to learn, we would love to hear from you. It only costs £15/quarter to join (around £1/week!), and you will receive tuition if required, the loan of an instrument and music, as well as the opportunity to learn new skills and to become a member of a fantastic local music-making activity.
