MAWS Update Summer 2011

Metheringham Animal Welfare Supporters group is in dire straits trying to do what is a 'mission impossible'. Fund-raising is never easy, but this year it has been dreadful with money so short. With only two events to go before the AGM in August they are still £1,500 short of their target. Normally they give at least £1,000 each to four small animal charities in Lincolnshire at the AGM. We all know the small charities are struggling this year more than ever as they are swamped with rescued animals and many that people can no longer afford to keep. So the money is needed even more than ever before. MAWS 'Mad Fortnight' house to house collections with the can, is Monday 30 May to Sunday 12 June inclusive. All collectors will have an ID badge / licence and a MAWS can to collect any coppers you can spare. Be sure to only give to authorized collectors. Every penny will count. That is followed by an evening of song and dance on Friday 17 June at Martin Moor Golf Club (starts at 7.30 pm). with Sharna, the very popular female vocalist. Admission is by ticket only, priced at £5.00. The Bar will be open for bar meals and drinks. The dance floor can be used so you can join in if you wish or just sit and enjoy.
