Metheringham Area Local Police News Summer 2011

News from your local Police Beat Team.

Bus Stop
Please can we remind residents that it is prohibited to stop in the marked out bus stops on the High Street, opposite the Co-op from Monday to Saturday between 7am and 7pm. The reason for this is to ensure the buses are clear of the highway when stopping to collect and drop off passengers and making it safer for other motorists and pedestrians crossing the road. Those vehicles found within the yellow markings of the bus stop will be issued with a £30 non- endorsable fixed penalty notice.

Summer Crime Prevention Advice
Burglary - The warmer weather has already arrived and this provides some ideal opportunities for Burglars.
Open Windows - You may be in another room or out in the garden but that open window is an opportunity.
Please close windows if leaving the room for any length of time and make sure exterior doors are locked even when home.
Try to get into the habit of double checking doors and windows when going to bed or leaving the house for even a short time

Garden Tools - In the Spring and Summer months many people turn their hand to a bit of gardening. If you enjoy gardening don't let it spoil your year. Garden tools are also perfect for breaking into your home, (make sure all tools are properly secured away from the hands of potential burglars). Lock garages and sheds with a good quality lock.

Street Briefing
Do you have any problems in your area? Not sure who to tell?
Why not speak to a member of your local Neighbourhood Policing Team?

The Neighbourhood Policing Team is holding a Street Briefing on Wednesday 15 June 2011 between 10am and Midday outside the Post Office on the High Street.

We are here to help - whether you have concerns regarding Anti-Social Behaviour, Criminal Damage, Speeding vehicles or just something you have spotted that is out of the ordinary and may be suspicious.

As a policing team we welcome information from the Public telling us what is happening within the community, however minor it may seem. Even if your problem does not appear to be a Policing matter, we can point you in the right direction and work with our partner agencies to try and find a solution. Come and see us!!
