Metheringham News 25th August 2011

from Dot Howes

Situation Vacant - New Village Correspondent Needed.

Would anyone like to be Metheringham village correspondent, keeping the local media informed of what is going on in and around Metheringham. If you want to make the community more aware of the myriad of activities and events happening locally then this could be just what you need. Dot Howes is no longer able to give the role the attention needed and that the local organisations and groups deserve. It is time for someone else to take over as Village Correspondent. Help and information (including contacts) will be given if required. Please contact 01526 322314 for further information.

Friday 16th September 2011 at 7.30pm will see Metheringham Village Hall transported back to Medieval times for a unique MACLA Diamond Jubilee fundraising event!!

A two course banquet of chicken, pork and beef, salads and potatoes, followed by apple pie will be served to you in wooden bowls by wenches.

The Lincoln Waites, an authentic medieval 5 piece band, and a stilt walking, fire eating jester will provide your entertainment.

On arrival, our King and Queen for the evening will be chosen, and treated royally and justly.

Come and be transported back to merry olde England, appropriate fancy dress is optional but would be greatly appreciated!!

All this for just twenty five of your modern English pounds, the more money raised the better the local celebrations will be for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee in 2012.

Tickets are available from D&K News on the High Street in Metheringham, or 32 High Street, Metheringham, you can also contact for more information.

There will be a 50:50 Auction in Metheringham Village Hall on Saturday 24th September 2011.
