May I on behalf of the Lincoln & District Multiple Sclerosis thank you and all your committee for allowing our branch at this years Metheringham Feast.
The branch made £181-00 after we had paid out prize money from, Play Your Cards Right, and Open the Lock, both game were enjoyed by all.
The Golf bag, that was won by Mrs Elaine Johnson from Lincoln, the number of buttons in the jar was (2,160) she guessed 2,103, however a lot of people were well over the amount.
Again on the plus side it gave me a chance to meet sufferers of this disease from Metheringham, and I tried to welcome them into joining the Society. Money raised from this event will go towards research, and welfare for members that require assistance.
As a local lad from Scopwick many years ago, it gave me a chance to meet a few old friends from my school days, and when I played local football for Scopwick. When the Feast committee sit down to decide things for 2012 could you please think of our Society.
Thank you all, and Kind Regards.

Minutes of the Meeting of Nocton Parish Council held 6th September 2011 in the Village Hall
Present:
Councillor D. Wilson Chair
Councillor I. Goldsworthy Vice-Chair
Councillor P. Askew
Councillor N. Faulkner
Councillor D. Rumbelow
Councillor K. Tyler
Councillor M. Williams
In attendance: Councillor R. Kendrick (North Kesteven DC)
Councillor M. Overton (Lincolnshire CC)
Mrs. D. Green (Parish Clerk)
Ms. Duckworth (Police Community Support Officer)
6 members of the public
1. Apologies for absence: Councillor J. Money (NKDC)
2. Declaration of Prejudicial Interest in Accordance With the Ethical Code of Conduct: None declared.
3. Report of the Police
PCSO Duckworth said that between the period 12th July and 6th September 2011 there had been three recorded incidents: theft from a motor vehicle; theft; and criminal damage. In addition, the rider of a motor scooter on Nocton Park had been cautioned.
It was noted that during the recent incident when an elderly woman had gone missing from the local care home, the emergency services had experienced considerable difficulty in reaching the search site. As such, it was considered necessary to publicise the location of the access keys for the hospital site main gate. Agreed that PCSO Duckworth will speak to Mr. Davies (the agent for Leeda Properties) on this matter.
Police patrols of the Hall site continue. Some 20 computer VDU screens had recently been fly-tipped in the Hall grounds. It was noted that the Vice-chair had now arranged with NKDC for these items to be removed. Agreed that Councillor Kendrick would check to ensure that NKDC had taken a note of the VDU serial numbers to assist in identifying the perpetrators.
4. Public Questions
Concern expressed that dog waste was still a problem. Agreed to appoint Mr Michael Cummins as the new Dog Warden for Nocton village for two hours per week for a trial period of three months. The Clerk to prepare the necessary letter of engagement.
Agreed to accept the offer from Nocton School for a representative to attend each meeting of the Parish Council to report briefly on current issues affecting the school, etc. The Clerk to advise the School accordingly.
Agreed that the Clerk would contact the school to confirm that the contractors currently working on the site would be reinstating the grass on The Green when work had been completed.
Noted that a local resident (Mr G. Hall) had attempted without success to obtain information from NKDC on the current situation regarding the Options Appraisal for Nocton Hall. He would, therefore, be submitting a request under the Freedom of Information Act (see Minute No. 11 below).
A resident sought clarification on the relationship between the Village Hall Committee, Social Club and the Parish Council. Agreed that Councillor Askew speak with the resident after the meeting.
PRESENT: Councillors N Dobbs (Chairman), Mrs J Finegan, Mrs S Peek, P Saffin, and Ms S Wetherall (Clerk).
1. To resolve to accept Apologies for Absence and reasons given:
Apologies were received from Councillors Dr M Allen and P Ford. The reasons were accepted.
2. Members Declarations of Interests: No declarations of interest were made.
3. To Consider Applications Received:
a) 11/0875/FUL - proposal: Change of use to allow childminding (retrospective) (temporary permission for a period of 2 years) 54 Shiregate, Metheringham, Lincoln, LN4 3DR. The following objection was made: Members felt there was a lack of information and some of the documents contradicted themselves. The property concerned is a residential property in a residential area, with properties to the side, rear and front.
The number of children to be provided for by the proposal together with the resultant number of staff would see a further significant increase in noise. This proposal will also increase associated traffic movements and noise.
Shiregate is a residential no through road and is unsuited to accommodating this type/level of activity. The increase in traffic is also a health and safety issue to children who play in the area. This application would have a detrimental impact on the neighbourhood.
Due to the above comments the Parish Council would recommend the application is refused and would request it is considered by NKDC Planning Committee.
b) 11/0937/OUT - proposal: Erection of dwelling (outline with all matters reserved) Land Adjacent 2 Townsend Way, Metheringham, Lincoln, LN4 3GB. The following objection was made: The plans submitted do not provide sufficient information and a lack of detail relating to the number of bedrooms in the property. The size of the proposed house in relation to the size of the plot appears to be too large. The proposed property is in close proximity to the neighbouring property 2 Townsend Way and will cause a loss of privacy/light and be overbearing. Access to the site is also of major concern as there is already a problem of vehicles parking on Townsend Way, close to the junction with Lincoln Road and we feel that the new access and further vehicles will only exacerbate the situation. This issue has already been raised with LCC Highways and Lincolnshire Police.
4. To Note Decisions Received:
CA39/48: T1 Ash to fell - Ashward House, Drury Street, Metheringham.
5. Correspondence:
None received
6. Date, time and venue of next meeting:
Wednesday 12th October 2011 at 7.30pm in the Pavilion.
The meeting closed at 8.30pm
