Scopwick Millennium Art Group Update Summer 2012
The Scopwick Millennium Art Group, which last year celebrated its tenth anniversary, meet between 9.30 and 12.30, each Friday in the village hall at Scopwick. At the present time there are 30+ members from around the local area, ranging from Lincoln to Heckington and Woodhall Spa to Cranwell. The members cover a multitude of abilities using a wide range of media. Help is always available, especially to beginners, both from fellow members and our resident professional artist who attends each session to give instruction and encouragement. The resulting artwork also covers a wide spectrum of both subject and level of competence.
The members enjoy a friendly social environment with a chat over a cup of coffee which results in some pieces of work taking, quite some time to complete!
We also arrange a number of demonstrations and workshops by professional artists working in different media, where visitors are always welcome.
We also have an annual coach trip to 'Patchings' an art festival where the members enjoy a day out, seeing a large number of art displays together with a large number of trade and craft stands. The highlight of the year though is our annual exhibition and sale of members' work which is held during the last weekend of September and open to the general public.
We have a small number of vacancies still available for new members with yearly membership from 1 September through to the end of July each year (August being our holiday period).
For those interested in joining our friendly informal group, please contact Mike Reynolds on 01526 323191 or visit us at one of our weekly sessions.
