The Saturday XI missed the chance of reaching the Lincoln Amateur Cup final last Saturday (16th Feb 08) as they lost 5-3, after extra time, against arch rivals Plough FC Skellingthorpe. Meg have not beaten Plough in five meetings, since they overcame them in the final of the Village Trophy in April 2006.

On Saturday Meg led twice through Matt Purbrick penalties and then came back from 3-2 down to take the game into extra time as Purbrick completed his hat-trick with an injury time equaliser but the extra half an hour proved too much as Plough netted twice in the second period.

Lincoln College have some great FREE courses starting after Easter locally in the community which I thought may be of advantage to your organisation and its members / users etc.

A few of the courses on offer to tempt you all include:

• ICT Easy
• NCFE National Award for Classroom Assistants Stage 1 - Cost £45
• English & Numeracy for Adults
• Basic Spanish
• Basic Car Maintenance - this course is run in the evenings

The courses all run during term time within school hours for those who have children or commitments and in instances we are able to offer childcare / crèche facilities. The courses run between six and twelve weeks often with a recognised qualification for the student at the end of it!
