CHAIRMAN (J. Wood) REPORT (attached)
The Blankney Royals women's cricket team has been recently formed and we are currently looking for players. No cricket experience is necessary, just a desire to play cricket!
First Game v Willingham-by-Stow (a) Wednesday 1st July at 6:30PM: Twenty/20 format. Let either Dave mail@blankneycc.com 07896429875 or Ally 07787 055993 know your availability girls!
We already have a nucleus of women, with many of the players having already played cricket at various levels, some with experience in mens teams. You will be given coaching and all the help you need to play and enjoy cricket in a vibrant and lively club environment.
Age is no barrier, providing you are reasonably fit. Whilst we want to encourage the under 16's to join the team, be aware at present that we have no junior specific coaching or facilities. Applications from Girls under 16 are welcome, but will be reviewed by the senior women's players and coaches in discussion with parents. Our priority will always be the health, safety, and welfare of the under 16's and other children. To reassure any parents, our coaches and senior women's players are all CRB checked, and you may be reassured from a first aid point of view that in our coaching and senior women's players we count at least 4 state registered health professionals!
The Royals are being supported and advised by the newly appointed Lincolnshire County Cricket Board Womens and Girls Cricket Development Officer, Arran Brindle. Arran is a very experienced and talented cricketer, having played for Lancashire and England. Her match saving century in 2005 against Australia in the Ashes series will long be remembered, and we welcome her to this important role for women in Lincolnshire cricket. We look forward to seeing Arran at Blankney on Sunday 5th July for her Lincolnshire girls and women's county day.
If you want more information simply email Dave, the Royals team manager at mail@blankneycc.com . Alternatively you can call one of current players, even if it's just for a chat...call Clair on 077434 19133, or Ally 07787 055993. The girls will be happy to talk to you!
