This'll be the last post in this weblog. For the last 2 years, I've used Ramblings as a test bed for some ideas, as a space to vent frustrations, and as a place to share goodies I've stumbled upon on my travels around the web.

Its now time to close these personal musings and move the concept to the mainstream site.

Ramblings will be replaced by a new addition to the MACLA web site stable, Metheringahm Area News which will be used to post all new material, links to interesting finds, trivia and anything else that peopel want to see.

If time permits, or on a slow news week, I'll migrate some of the better stuff from Ramblings to the main site.

So thanks for the ride.....

I've been a bit busy these past few months with a work related project hence the lack of posting. A good friend reminded me recently that I've been neglecting this blog. He's right of course and its not only the blog that's been neglected, but other sites I'm supposed to look after as well. I can't promise that things will improve over the next few months but, by mid-summer, you should start to see normal service resumed.

Meanwhile, here's a fascinating site about facial muscles. Have a play!

For a the last week , we have been having emails bounced from a friend who we've known for years.. They were receiving emails from others, but not ours.

Time to dig out the deerstalker and meerschaum.......

It transpires that an intermediate company has decide that all emails from our ISP sent to the email servers of our friend's ISP are 'spam' even though we both know that they are not. Neither of the ISPs will accept responsibility and refuse to do anything to resolve the situation.

So if you are with Wanadoo, I'm afraid you can't email any NTLworld addresses. If you're with NTLworld, you can still send to people with Wanadoo, you just won't get any reply.

Spam emails are a serious problem, I get hundreds every day but this heavy handed approach by a mainstream ISP, NTLworld, is not justified. Let's hope the problem resolves itself sooner rather than later.

Time to roll out the web based email addresses that I keep for travelling: hotmail, gmail or yahoo ...
